Frank Marshall reveals on his Twitter page that Ponyo will have a "big presence" at this year's ComicCon in July. He hasn't revealed any more details as of yet, but he is enthusiastic about Hayao Miyazaki's latest movie, and I expect that we will be hearing more in the weeks ahead.
I do hope that some promotional event is planned for the Mall of America, just so I could attend. How do I get seated at some panel discussions? Who do I talk to?

It's becoming clear that Miyazaki is going to make a surprise appearance at Comic Con. He's coincidentally appearing in San Francisco the same weekend -- you don't think Disney won't fly him down and have him appear and wave at the biggest fan/pop culture event in North America?
That's an excellent idea. Considering how close the two events are happening, it seems logical that Miyazaki could appear at both venues. Now if we could just him to visit Minnesota...
I am also greatly impressed with how much effort Ponyo's US producers are making in promoting the latest Ghibli feature. Previous efforts were notoriously tepid, almost tossed off to the art-house circuit and ignored. But this was an issue that Ghibli's new President wanted to address, and we're seeing those results now.
Thank you so much for visiting and commenting. It's an honor and a joy to have you over.
