In Japan, that is. Lupin III: Castle of Cagliostro will be released on Blu-Ray on December 3, and Series 1 and Series 2 will be released on December 12. There's no word on whether English subtitles will be included, but I sure hope so. There's no reason why not in this day and age.
It also goes without saying that a North American release would be absolutely fantastic. Nobody here ever secured the rights to Lupin Series 1; weirdly enough, it's the best and most famous of the whole bunch. You'd think somebody would jump at the chance to release one of Hayao Miyazaki and Isao Takahata's signature works.

English Subtitles would be very welcome considering that North America/Japan share the same Blu-Ray region. (since BR is down to 3 total regions)
I also unlocked my DVD player back in early September so that it is now region free. Within minutes of doing so I purchased "Only Yesterday" and "Little Nor.." I mean "Horus" from Amazon.uk
I had seen the latter before, but not the former.
Everything, that I have seen indicates that there are no English subtitles on the Lupin III Blu-ray TV series. I am really, really, hoping that I am proved wrong though!! I so would snatch up the first season in a heartbeat!! On a side note: Dan, I love the blog!! I stumbled upon it while searching for any info I could find on the Lupin Blu-rays... Keep up the great posts!!! -Nate
