Yeah, that should be really good. I'm interested in seeing it, although I don't know if it's the existing movie in the "3-D" effect, or something that was rendered three-dimensionally by cgi. most likely the former. They're really going to push the 3-D gimmick hard.

Yeah, the money they're pulling in from the 3D effect has really driven the market to a point of looming saturation. Many of the films that use it don't even really benefit from it like how The Polar Express or Beowulf did. (which Zemeckis made with 3D in mind)

I remember when the Polar Express came out in 2004, they thought it was going to be a bomb after it's initial few weeks, but it kept making money from the 3D to the point where it broke even in theatres and went on to draw profits because of the DVD release. Which of course has led to its re-release in 3D each Christmas since.

As for Beauty and the Beast, I was born in 1987, so I was smack dab in the middle of the whole "Disney Musical Renaissance", making it apart of my childhood and forever engraved into my psyche. BatB has always been my favorite Disney film, so for me, they could not have picked a better one to put into 3D.

I never saw BatB in theatre the first time around (I was 4 anyway) and missed the boat on the IMAX re-release in 2002. I'm just glad that this time I have somebody to go with, same with "Ponyo".

Hurray for girlfriends that like animated/anime films. =P
