Anything that comes out of the studio that doesn't have the names of either Miyazaki or Takahata predictably get a host of 3 star reviews and the boring, predictable comparisons to established Ghibli classics. If people open their hearts to the studio's emerging talents, as I do, they'd discover many more gems. The Cat Returns is one of my favourite Ghibli movies...in my top five even. That is because I never put my cynical head on when I discovered Miyazaki or Takahata wasn't directing it. This new film could be amazing, but already a sizeable section of the target audience will not be as receptive to it as they would a Miyazaki movie. That will influence their feelings upon watching it, and Miyazaki shall go on worrying about finding a new director to lead the way when he retires. Call me cynical, but that is the way it has been for ages now. People need to give the new kids at Studio Ghibli a chance, like I do.Slitheen23https://www.blogger.com/profile/16575263080830703388noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-24969765.post-69732702391453224332010-07-16T18:47:12.330-05:002010-07-16T18:47:12.330-05:00Final full trailer
