These are paintings that know they are paintings.Daniel Thomas MacInneshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01406180871529775448noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-24969765.post-79222425117497643432009-09-05T18:03:19.403-05:002009-09-05T18:03:19.403-05:00I don't think I've seen a better demonstra...I don't think I've seen a better demonstration of the watercolor look in this movie. That image with Sosuke stepping in the water especially.. it looks beautiful and simple, not trying for realism. And there seems to be some pastel or chalk mixed with the watercolor too.greenteanoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-24969765.post-73989354393483875562009-09-05T14:43:37.949-05:002009-09-05T14:43:37.949-05:00@katie: You can get a BD-ROM player for your compu...@katie: You can get a BD-ROM player for your computer for as little as $79. I have one attached to my computer. And regular Blu-Ray players are getting cheaper and cheaper. For me, the big expense at the moment would be the flatscreen tv.

@jay: The Japanese Blu-Ray will be released on December 8. The region 2 DVDs do look very nice when upscaled on my PS3 (such as the Japanese DVD of Ponyo) but I'm sure the bluray will look even better.
I don't suppose anyone knows what region the US or Japanese Bluray will be yet? With the UK cinema release not stated until Feb 2010 I'm rather miffed at the wait to see Ponyo in all it's glory.
Also what is the release date for Ponyo on bluray as I am in Japan at the end of Sept.Jay Gunnhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14753281299716160041noreply@blogger.com
