Ronia, the Robber's Daughter - Episodes Master List

Ronia the Robber's Daughter (Sanzoku no Musume Ronja) is Goro Miyazaki's TV anime series, adapted from the popular children's book by Astrid Lindgren. The series is a joint production between Studio Ghibli and Polygon Pictures, and features CGI rendered in a hand-drawn style, mixed with traditional animated backgrounds.  The series began broadcast in Japan in October, 2014, and will run for 26 episodes.

Ronia's style and subject matter appear to be extremely close to Heidi, Girl of the Alps, the landmark anime series created by Isao Takahata, Hayao Miyazaki, and Yoichi Kotabe. How fascinating that son Goro continues to explore the roots of his father's work, albeit with a slightly different twist. Perhaps the computer animated style of this series will continue in his future productions? Perhaps this is an indication of where Japanese anime will evolve in a post-Miyazaki era? It's still too early to tell.

Goro Miyazaki's mission for this show: "Ronia the Robber's Daughter is a story not just about a girl who grows into adulthood, but it is also a story about the love and growth between a parent and a child, and a story about the bonds between friends. My goal is to create a work that everyone, from children to adults, will be able to enjoy."

2017 Update: Ronja the Robber's Daughter is currently available in the USA at Amazon Prime, complete with an English-language dub soundtrack. I highly recommend you head there to watch episodes.
